![]() Going this route might cost your the price of a DAW (which you'll need anyways), or it will cost you $0 if you already have a good one. I would cover synths by getting Syntorial to learn synthesis properly, and then getting one or two great synths. If you want to keep learning synthesis, contact him for an educational discount (i assume you're a student). In terms of what synths to buy, start with whatever is included in your DAW and use them until you've exhausted the possibilities and/or get tired of the sound.
